Who we are
“Riojano de pura cepa”, as the popular saying says. I am from the small village of Villalobar De Rioja, with less than 60 habs. Even though my working life has been linked to sales and marketing, my whole life changed after living an incredible professional experience as I worked as general manager of a small Hotel in Ghana’s capital, Accra, West Africa. Under my management, we achieved excellent results in positioning and service. Anyway, during that stay in Africa, I became aware of what a traveler is looking for, and I discovered that I was really good at helping them. It was such an awesome life experience, that when I came back to Spain, I realized that I couldn’t live the rest of my life sheathed in a suit and a tie. If I were able to do such a good job in a foreign country, I decided that I wanted to show my beloved Rioja to people from all over the world in a different way than regular tour guides. I wanted to show travelers the secrets and marvels that only locals have the opportunity to get to know.
'Love Rioja' was born in 2015, the name comes from the old tractors’ plates in our region marked with LO = Logroño y VE = Especial Vehicle, LO-VE. And certainly, for the love and passion that I put on each and every tour. During this period, I have received various awards for best Guide in Rioja, from different international Tourism magazines.
In 2016, Luxury Travel Guide awarded Love Rioja with Best Guide Award in Rioja. In 2017, Igap Travel Guide also awarded us with the Best Guide in Rioja award. Besides this, TripAdvisor granted us with the Excellence Certificate, due to the excellent references on their website. And this year 2018, Travel & Hospitality a renowned international tourism magazine assessed that LOVE Rioja is the Best Experience in Rioja. I cannot be happier :) Anyway, since it is pretty hard to describe oneself, I prefer that travelers that have enjoyed a Tour with Love Rioja should be the ones to tell how I am:...Although, I think it is better to have a first hand impression, Don't you think so? ;-)
